La mayoría de ellos son reconstrucciones históricas basadas en antiguos mitos y leyendas. Todos son investigaciones rigurosas e innovadoras sobre la forma de abordar los documentos antiguos por parte del historiador. Una de las principales aportaciones metodológicas es la aplicación del análisis estructural a estos mitos. Es el caso del mito babilónico de Adapa, una saga antidiluviana vinculada al ciclo de la vegetación y de la muerte, cuyas claves están en la lectura antropológica de la «hospitalidad» y de la reciprocidad. O el carácter propagandístico de los edictos reales hititas, su manipulación política y retórica, donde la paridad, la simetría y la igualdad de rango entre reyes enmascaran situaciones de sumisión y subordinación, o bien la forma en que reyes usurpadores, como Idrimi de Alalah, Sargón de Akkad o Hattushili III, presentaron sus respectivas historias como un «cuento de hadas», a fin de justificar sus aspiraciones al trono. O la insistente y reiterativa correspondencia entre el rey de Biblos, Rib-Adda, y el faraón egipcio, en la que aquel utiliza recursos literarios para presentar el lamento por la pérdida de la «edad de oro» de su ciudad, en un contexto de frustración política. Por último, la leyenda bíblica de Joás salvado de niño por un pariente y reconocido años después como monarca a través de un relato dirigido a legitimar sus derechos.…

La necessità di conoscere le consistenze archeologiche nel sottosuolo di Roma è stata sempre avvertita almeno da fine '800, non solo da studiosi, archeologi e storici, ma anche da quanti operano e opereranno sul territorio per lo sviluppo urbanistico e architettonico della città e per le Imprese di Servizi pubblici fondamentali (acqua, gas, elettricità ecc.) In base a questa esigenza già nel 1947 un'apposita Commissione istituita presso il Ministero della Pubblica Istruzione e formata da eminenti studiosi avviò il progetto per la realizzazione della Carta Archeologica di Roma suddivisa in 9 quadranti in correlazione con le regioni augustee di Roma. Ogni quadrante sarebbe stato costituito da un testo (volume) e dalla relativa tavola grafica. La Commissione pubblicò il I Quadrante nel 1961, il II Quadrante nel 1962 e il III Quadrante nel 1974, anno in cui il progetto si arenò. Le Edizioni Quasar, dopo la conclusione in sei volumi della collana Lexicon Topographicum Urbis Romae, ha ripreso, d'intesa con la Soprintendenza Archeologica di Roma, il progetto realizzandolo come Supplementum del Lexicon Topographicum Urbis Romae. Il progetto Carta Archeologica di Roma mira a raccogliere le testimonianze di chi ha operato o assistito alla urbanizzazione di Roma e del suo territorio soprattutto negli ultimi 130 anni: si tratta di testimonianze dirette, spesso inedite, presentate nel contesto in cui è avvenuto il ritrovamento con il corredo, ove esiste, dell'apparato grafico e fotografico atto a ricostruire il tessuto originario e a collocare i dati su base cartografica forniti dalla Sara Nistri, in scala 1:2500, formato 68 x 98 cm avendo come limite temporale il periodo 1879-2000 ed il limite territoriale delle XII Regioni augustee.
