Die vorherrschenden Meinungen verbinden ihn mit dem Dezisionismus bzw. einem politischen Existenzialismus und der politischen Theologie. In der vorliegenden Publikation versucht Herrera hingegen eine allgemeine Positionsbestimmung solchen Denkens, die die Nähe Schmitts zur so genannten praktischen Philosophie aufzeigt.Herrera analysiert die Werke Schmitts unter besonderer Berücksichtigung seiner methodischen Haltung, die er als phänomenologisch bezeichnet, weil Schmitt sich ständig bemüht, in der Nähe des konkreten Leben zu bleiben.So sehr diese Haltung aber dem Begreifen des ursprünglich Gegebenen gedient haben mag, so problematisch ist sie doch für das Verständnis der Werke Schmitts. Die Tatsache, dass die Analysen so konkret sind, macht Unstimmigkeiten erkennbar, die bei einer Systemphilosophie schwerer zu finden sind. Aufgrund dieser Konkretheit seiner Analysen kann Schmitt z. B. als Dezisionist bzw. politischer Theologe bezeichnet werden. Die Auseinandersetzung mit der Methode Schmitts führt den Autor zu der Erkenntnis, dass sich in Schmitts Denken phänomenologisch wesentliche bzw. strukturierende Prinzipien finden, wie z. B. ein praktischer Sinn in der Existenz oder der prekäre Charakter des Menschseins, d. h., dass der Mensch sowohl in seiner Existenz als auch in den Möglichkeiten, Sinn zu erleben, begrenzt ist.Auf diese Weise kommt Herrera zu dem Ergebnis, dass, obwohl es in Schmitts Denken Hinweise auf die katholische Theologie gibt und Entscheidung und konkrete Existenz darin eine große Rolle spielen, seine Werke Argumente von philosophischer Tragweite enthalten. In diesen Werken lassen sich praktische Prinzipien oder zumindest Grundlagen für diese finden.…
