If you?ve met Pastor Gregorius before (as the repulsive old man in someone else?s story), this is his chance to step into the spotlight, straighten his dog collar, and plead his case. If you haven?t, don?t worry: all you need to know is that you?re about to enter the head of a man who is: Deeply pious, Deeply insecure, Deeply awkward about sex, And perhaps not nearly as monstrous?or as innocent?as he?d like to believe. It?s a novel about self-justification, self-delusion, and the strange lengths people go to in order to make their lives feel like they?re happening on purpose. What?s going on inside?
