Soft cover. Condition: Good. Re-issue. Soft covers. xiv,78pp + adverts. Staples rusty. Name & address of previous owner written at top of title page. Covers scuffed & grubby sm closed tears & a small amount of loss round the spine area but considering the fragility of the publication a very decent copy. The author wrote the History of Blackpool & this little booklet was originally published in a very ltd. ed in 1845 to lay down the traditions of the foreland of the Fylde in the Elizabethan era. The original book is extremely scarce & this re-issue not much less so.

First edition. [4], 78pp. Original publisherâs textured brown cloth, printed paper lettering-piece to spine, marbled edges. Rubbed and spotted, spine sunned. Scattered foxing. A rare, provincially published novella centred on the Flyde coast legend of the Penny Stone rock, and the hostelry that is reputed to have been there. At the head of the title page is the text 'Traditions of the foreland of the Flyde. Elizabethan era'; this would suggest a series, however we have been unable to trace other volumes in it. Another edition, printed at Preston, appeared in 1886. COPAC records a single copy (BL); OCLC adds two further (NMM and Stanford). Size: 8vo.
