Turner's copy, with her ownership signature atop the cover; stapled to the inside front cover is a 1 September 1964 typescript letter on Scripps Institution of Oceanography letterhead from the secretary of James M. Snodgrass, Patricia Erb, to Dr. Turner, stating that Mr. Snodgrass wanted this volume sent to her. Dr. Turner added masking tape to the spine area and wrote on it, writing that has now mostly faded; cover has stamp of the S. D. V. Division (apparently the U.S. Navy); volume has some wear; inner margins have small stain at bottom; Dr. Turner leaked some blue ink at top of back cover; tight, body of text clean. iv, 16, 6 leaves, with 26 leaves of plates (mostly photographs of "floats" that had an "accumulation of marine organisms").
