In the publisher's original quarter cloth, with brown paper boards. Contains fifty four leaves of illustrated facsimiles of intricate woodcuts towards the rear. Focusing on a period when the first printing presses were established, this intriguing study focuses on how woodcuts have developed during the early Tudor period, detailing publishers and printers such as William Caxton and Wynkyn de Worde, as well as showcasing the illustrations of engravers such as Richard Pynson. In the publisher's original quarter cloth, with brown paper boards. Externally, smart, with minimal marks to boards. Slight fading to the spine, and bumping to the head and tail of the spine, lighter to the extremities. End papers are bright and clean. Internally, firmly bound.
