Softcover. Condition: Very Good. Immediate dispatch from Somerset. Nice book in great condition. Pages in excellent condition. No notes or highlighting. See images. Fantastic book. About the book >.>.> The subject of this book is the neurocognition of language. Both the functional organiza- tion of the human language system and its neural underpinnings are scrutinized. Our main motivation for putting this book together was triggered by the unprecedented increase in studies on the neural architecture of language functions in the last decade. Due to the rapid development of brain-imaging techniques it is now possible to measure brain activity related to language in action. This contrasts with the past where, in the absence of an animal model, we had to rely on the experiments of nature, in the form of brain lesions that led to language deficits. In this volume we attempt to combine state-of- the-art knowledge about speaking, listening, and reading with insights into the brain systems involved in these language functions. By reviewing and summarizing our under- standing of the neural architecture of language in relation to its cognitive organization. and by discussing new approaches to bringing neural measure.

The book also examines neurobiological methods, including functional and structural neuroimaging and molecular genetics. Ideal for students engaged in the field, Research Methods in Psycholinguistics and the Neurobiology of Language examines the relative strengths and weaknesses of various methods in relation to competing approaches.
