Knowledge, Politics and Policymaking in Indonesia examines the relationship between research, evidence, politics, and public policymaking in contemporary Indonesia. Edited by Arnaldo Pellini, Budiati Prasetiamartati, Kharisma Priyo Nugroho, Elisabeth Jackson, and Fred Carden, the volume brings together contributions from academics, policy researchers, policymakers, and international development practitioners. Drawing substantially on experience from the Knowledge Sector Initiative, the book explores how research and other forms of evidence are produced, communicated, and used within Indonesia's policymaking system. Chapters examine the relationship between academic research and public policy, the role of policy research institutes, knowledge brokering within government, the political factors influencing policymakers' use of evidence, data innovation, and institutional reforms intended to strengthen evidence-informed policymaking. Condition Description. Very Good. This copy was acquired from a bookseller who purchases publisher and distributor overstock. He sold it to me as a new book. It does appear to be an unsold overstock copy rather than a previously owned or used book, but I am not comfortable listing it as "New" or in "Fine" condition. It does have a clean, tight hardcover with a bright, exceptionally clean interior. No writing, highlighting, underlining, ownership marks, or other interior markings. Binding is firm and pages appear to have little or no use. Glossy pictorial boards remain bright and attractive but show light to moderate shelf/storage wear, including surface rubbing and scuffing, with minor bumping and rubbing at several corners and edges, as shown in the photographs. Overall, a very clean, well-preserved copy with wear confined to the exterior.…
