When Morsey joined Ford in 1948, Henry Ford II and other industry titans were on the verge of discontinuing the V-8. Morsey's campaign to keep the engine in production directly contributed to its use in the Ford Thunderbird and Mustang. He went on to help launch Ford's NASCAR program, convinced prominent golfers to market Lincolns, and later became chief financial officer of RCA.
