Paperback. Condition: New. Print on Demand. This book presents a comprehensive overview of the spider species collected by E. Modigliani during his explorations of Sumatra and Nias in the late 19th century. The author, an eminent arachnologist of the time, meticulously describes and classifies a multitude of spider specimens, including numerous novel species. The work touches upon the zoological significance of these discoveries, placing them within the context of the existing knowledge of spider diversity in the region. By expanding the known range of known spider species and providing detailed descriptions for future reference, the author contributes to the ongoing study and understanding of arachnology. The book's in-depth analysis and documentation of the collected specimens offer valuable insights into the biodiversity and zoogeography of spiders in Sumatra and Nias, making it a significant reference for researchers and enthusiasts in the field. This book is a reproduction of an important historical work, digitally reconstructed using state-of-the-art technology to preserve the original format. In rare cases, an imperfection in the original, such as a blemish or missing page, may be replicated in the book. print-on-demand item.…

Copertina morbida. Condition: Buono. Prima edizione. XII, 191 p. : ill. ; 23 x 14 cm. Viaggi e avventure. …

Paperback. Condition: New. Print on Demand. This book details the author's exploration of Engano, an almost-unknown island off the coast of Sumatra. The book begins with the author's trip to Lake Toba, then moves on to his arrival on Engano. The author provides a rich ethnographic description of the Enganoan people, covering their appearance, customs, religion, their weapons, and many other facets of life on the island. With Engano being isolated from the rest of the world until very recently, this book provides a unique historical record of the Enganoan people before the arrival of modern civilization. This book is a reproduction of an important historical work, digitally reconstructed using state-of-the-art technology to preserve the original format. In rare cases, an imperfection in the original, such as a blemish or missing page, may be replicated in the book. print-on-demand item.…
