El despierto, el Despertar, son figuras más bien calmas, hasta idílicas. Ningún rasgo de lucha, ningún anhelo en el horizonte; búsqueda meditativa, contemplativa, irónica consigo misma, humorística, también en sentido fisiológico, eminentemente corporal, pero allí donde el cuerpo no es carne sino espíritu, y el espíritu no es fantasma sino cuerpo. Monista en lo profundo. O más bien allí donde monismo y pluralismo son la misma cosa, en lucha contra aquel enemigo profundo que es el dualismo. El combate contra el dualismo une a Nietzsche con el budismo, pero no con el de Buda sino aún más, con Eihei Dogen, maestro budista zen traído a nosotros desde el siglo XIII.
