Por eso mismo es tan importante para un niño recibir una ayuda temprana y adecuada. Este libro resume de forma comprensible los conocimientos alcanzados en la actualidad por la psicotraumatología, la disciplina que estudia los traumas psíquicos, de tal modo que padres, educadores, docentes y otros agentes que tienen que ver con los niños, dispongan de una guía acerca de lo que pueden y deben hacer si el niño ha sufrido un trauma anímico. Andreas Krüger, nacido en 1964, es psiquiatra de niños y adolescentes, especialista en el tratamiento de traumas infantiles, área de la que fue responsable en el Hospital Universitario de Hamburgo-Eppendorf. Es director del Instituto de Psicotrauma-tología de la Niñez y la Adolescencia en Hamburgo, (ipkj. de), así como director médico de la asociación Ankerland para la ayuda a niños traumatizados (ankerland. org).
