The film was released in 1960, starring Robert Morley, Ralph Richardson and Phyllis Calvert. Property of Zoya Film Productions, Belgravia, London. This biographical film surrounds the life of Oscar Wilde, with particular focus on Wilde's libel suit against the Marquess of Queensberry, and the following accusations of Wilde's homosexuality. Written by prominent British film and television writer, Jo Eisinger, whose career spanned more than forty years. Eisinger is best known for his psychologically complex thrillers, 'Gilda' (1946) and 'Night and the City' (1950). Bound in the publisher's original paper wraps. A film noir biblio mystery, with an intrepid newspaperman working to solve the murder of a priest by following the coded clues found within the dead man's Bible to help find a valuable Leonardo da Vinci painting.
