Bolsillo. Condition: New. Dust Jacket Condition: Nuevo. 01. LIBRO.

Rilegato. Condition: nuovo. Why is there a woman lying cheerfully in a coffin in the middle of a crowd? And what kind of bishop is that with a naked beauty on his cape? Cristóbal Hara's photographs show an undiscovered Spain, far from its beautiful beaches and urban centers, with its ordinary people and animals, and their peculi…arities. The images require close examination as they reveal the extraordinary in the ordinary. On the streets, at processions and markets, funerals and bullfights, Hara's camera captures the hustle and bustle of the provinces. An Imaginary Spaniard tells of joy, sorrow, loneliness and companionship and creates a fairy-tale world out of sadness and enchantment. 96 pages Hardback / Clothbound 18 x 24 cm English ISBN 978-3-88243-901-4 1. Edition 10/2004 CONDITION: NEW, not sealed. Out of print.

Hardcover. Condition: New. *** FREE UPGRADE to Courier/Priority Shipping Upon Request *** - *** IN STOCK AND IMMEDIATELY AVAILABLE FOR SHIPMENT - Flawless copy, brand new, pristine, never opened -- 96 pp. ; 70 color illustrations. -- with a bonus offer--; Cristobal Hara was born into a Spanish colonial family in 1946, and spent…his early childhood in the Philippines and the U.S. When he was eight, he was sent to boarding school in provincial Spain, and found himself locked into a world of perverse religiosity and sexual repression, coupled with violence and corporal punishment. Autobiography, the second volume of a trilogy (following An Imaginary Spaniard, 2004), puts images of contemporary Spain through the emotional filters of Hara's childhood. The result digs deep into Spanish culture and into the cultural background of his generation. Hara's work has been seen in Aperture and at the Victoria & Albert Museum, London. Until 1985, he worked exclusively in black-and-white, and since then, only in color. He lives in a small village near Cuenca, Spain.

Tapa Dura. Condition: New. 1ª Edición. El Principiante ( The Beginner );An enthralling journey through the career of Cristobal Hara, who after more than half a century as a photographer, returns to his origins. An invitation to rediscover the freshness and sense of wonder with which the best photographs are born. An essential ti…tle for photography lovers as well as readers drawn to authentic and transformative life stories. Everyday Spanish life is shown through unexpected angles and fragmented perspectives reflecting the rituals, traditions, and idiosyncrasies of Spanish society. After more than five decades behind the camera, the author recalls a time when being a novice photographer was synonymous with freedom, risk, and discovery. From his youthful decision to abandon the business world to devote himself to photography, through his years of learning on the streets under the dictatorship, to his first international collaborations, this book brings together the images that shaped his craft. With previously unpublished images and personal stories, the author reveals how his vocation was born ?inspired by Cartier-Bresson and forged on the streets of Francoist Spain? and how that spirit of experimentation has accompanied him through portraits, urban scenes, travels, and unique projects. More than just a visual memoir, this work is an invitation to relive the thrill of adventure, the constant search for the unexpected, and the essence of photography as both art and life experience.
