Grazie al racconto che ci conduce nel significato intrinseco di ciascun ideogramma, i caratteri cinesi ci affascinano non solo per la loro estetica, ma soprattutto per il loro valore semantico ed evocativo. Il poeta-scrittore, che dà corpo ai suoi sogni che si animano di vita propria, parte dalla natura e giunge all'uomo. L'uomo a sua volta creerà relazioni umane sempre più complesse, attraverso il nucleo familiare, la comunità, i riti e infine la "civiltà", portatrice di valori quali la proprietà, il territorio, le armi, il potere. Il quadro idilliaco dell'inizio della creazione cambia, qualcosa è sfuggito da quelle che erano le intenzioni primarie del poeta. L'autore ci guida in una sorta di percorso "generativo" da un carattere all'altro, dove i segni e i relativi significati si completano, si sovrappongo, si tramutano. I suoni si susseguono a volte con sorprendenti assonanze o omofonie, che l'autore sottolinea e che sono analizzate nell'appendice. Chen Dehong (illustrator). Book.
