Diese Tradition privaten Mazenatentums nahmen in jungster Zeit Paul Gutermuth und Berthold Beitz wieder auf, die ihre bedeutenden Sammlungen persischer Kunst dem Museum geschenkt haben. Die 50 jeweils in Text und Bild vorgestellten Stucke reichen vom kleinen Schmuckanhanger bis zur monumentalen Figurengruppe sie decken nahezu alle antiken Denkmalergattungen ab - von der attischen Meisterschale bis zum Marmorportrat, vom Bronzebeil bis zur tonernen Ollampe. Die Texte sind das Gemeinschaftswerk von Studierenden, Doktoranden und Dozenten des Instituts fur Archaologische Wissenschaften der Ruhr-Universitat Bochum.
