Halbporträt en face des Komponisten Johann Sebastian Bach. Der Maler und Grafiker Prechtl (1926-2003) schuf neben seinen bekannten Plakatarbeiten und Buchillustrationen auch eine große Zahl von Porträts, u. a. für große Zeitschriften wie die New York Times oder den Spiegel. Das Bach-Porträt, eine Prechtelsche Variation des Gemäldes von E. Hausmann entstand Ende der 1970er Jahre für die Wiederveröffentlichung von Paul Hindemiths Text über Johann Sebastian Bach "Ein verpflichtendes Erbe" in der Edition Tiessen. Innerhalb des alten Passepartout-Ausschnitts gebräunt. Hier ein unbeschnittenes Exemplar, die Exemplare der Biuchausgabe sind beschnitten (ca. 29,5 x 19,5 cm). Schönes Exemplar.
