Correspondance de 7 lettres autographes signées à lécrivain Eugène de Jacob de La COTTIÈRE (1828-1885). 21 pages. Formats : in-8 et in-12. Bar-sur-Aube, 1867. La verve dAlphonse Ba…udouin ! Remerciement pour un article qui a paru dans le Moniteur judiciaire de Lyon à propos de son recueil de poésie Fleurs de ruines. « Je nai pas lhabitude dêtre gâté par la presse qui pourtant dans notre siècle nest pas avare dencens, mais qui le garde pour dautres que pour des poëtes sincères ». Il désigne son livre comme un « pauvre et obscur bouquin ». Dans la deuxième lettre, il lui fait savoir à qui il a envoyé son « bouquin » à divers journaux et plusieurs personnes. Il cite notamment M. Péladan : « Je nai pas même reçu un mot de réponse. Je nai pas de modestie et je croyais franchement mériter un peu plus que rien » Il dénonce des « coteries » et demande à nouveau des adresses de journaux « conservateurs » du Midi. Dans les 3e et 4e lettres, il remercie son correspondant pour lenvoi de son ouvrage Le Chemin de la Lune, lui donne tous ses contacts presse pour envoyer son ouvrage et lui fait part de ses réactions et de son jugement littéraire. Dans une des lettres, il raconte avec humour ce quil lui est arrivé avec un confrère : « Connaissez-vous un certain Boué de Villiers [Amaury-Louis-R. Boué de Villiers (1834-188 ?)] à Evreux ? Il ma joué un tour de fripon. Il ma écrit pour me demander deux exemplaires de Fleurs de ruines sous prétexte de faire un compte-rendu En post-scriptum, il me recommandait des uvres et me priait de lui envoyer ma souscription. Jai donné bêtement dans le panneau et maintenant le sus-dit Boueux de Vicié ne répond pas à mes lettres. Je croyais venir en aide à un confrère et rendre service pour service, jai fait une ânerie et le sus-dit Bousier de Vicieux me sape ».
