General Atomics is a…n American energy and defense corporation headquartered in San Diego, California, specializing in research and technology development. This includes physics research in support of nuclear fission and nuclear fusion energy. The company also provides research and manufacturing services for remotely operated surveillance aircraft, including the Predator drones; airborne sensors; and advanced electric, electronic, wireless, and laser technologies. The experimenters built a precision radiography system that measures shells for all current ablator materials to an accuracy of 1:10 4 in optical depth fluctuation and a spatial resolution of 120 m. The data obtained by the precision radiography system for undoped shells was compared with the data taken using the well-known surface measurement technique Spheremapper. Since both techniques yielded the same power spectrum for the same shell, the results of the precision radiography system were verified. When this technique is compared to the Be:Cu NIF shell, there is no significant internal layer fluctuation. To account for the growing measurement demand, a new x-ray system to accommodate measurements in 1 working day was designed. Presumed First Edition, First printing thus [Conference Preprint].

National Ignition Facility (NIF) ignition target specifications require submicron dimensional measurement accuracy for the spherical ablator shell, which requires the proper corrections of various distortions induced by the imaging lens, the point projection geometry, and x-ray refraction. The procedures we developed allow measurement accuracies of 0.5 m for the capsule diameter, ±0.2 m for the out-of-round (which is the amplitude of the radius variations), ±0.3 fan for the wall thickness (including each sub-layer), and ±0.1 m for wall thickness profile. Contact seller4-star sellerSoft cover. Condition: Good. 1st Edition. Paperback. In original tan printed wrappers, 42 pp., and very large folding color soil survey map of Perry County at rear. The map, based on U. S. Geological Survey topographic coverage, shows cultural details (individual buildings, roads, railroads, etc.) in addition to soil types and d…istribution within the region, necessary for delineating important and desirable agricultural areas. Descriptions and characteristics of soil classifications shown on the map are provided in the report together with information about principal and lesser crops grown at the time of the survey. An early edition and possibly the first soil survey of Perry County. Later soil surveys provide more maps and finer details but lack the visual appeal, simplicity, and historical content of this earlier large color map. *** Condition: Complete as issued. Ex-library with ink stamp and call numbers on front wrapper, else the booklet is internally clean with no other markings. Removed from bound volume with roughness and chipping to wrappers along the bound edge, loose or detaching pages, and stitch holes along the left margin not affecting the map. More than 300 illustrations and photographs accompany the story of pivotal events and the details of student life from the first classes held on the Georgia frontier in 1801 through the impact of the Civil War and Reconstruction, the admission of women in 1918, and the construction of a new east campus. This new edition features an in-depth chronicle of the University of Georgia's rapid growth during the past decade and describes the effects of the expansion of the student body and faculty, the burgeoning athletic program and its new emphasis on women's sports, and the administrations of Charles Knapp and Michael Adams. From landmark changes to little-known events and curious facts, A Pictorial History of the University of Georgia presents a complete portrait of the school that blends educational innovation and cultural diversity with long-standing traditions. Edgar on piano and voice, and Edward on vocals together broke new ground when the big thing in Gospel was quartets. Hits such as "Jesus Dropped The Charges", "Throw Out The Lifeline" and "Power In the Blood" still resonate, their close harmony being unforgettable. The duo was inducted into the Gospel Music Hall of Fame in 2004." [Gospel Music . com] * * * * * "Gospel music trailblazer Helen Stephens was born in New Orleans. As a school girl at Booker T. Washington High School she sang in the choir and was also the school's piano accompanist. She went on to Dillard College where she received a music degree in 1949. A short time later, Ms Stephens came to Berkeley with her husband, Arnold Stephens, and formed the award winning gospel choir "The Voices of Christ" at Berkeley's Progressive Missionary Baptist Church. The group, which began with twenty-three members, soon grew to ninety-two and went on to record eight albums on the Savoy label. Lady Stephens, as she was known, had a major influence on the world of gospel music both nationally and at her home base here in the Bay Area. She introduced gospel into the curriculum at Cal State Hayward and taught at the College of Marin in Kentfield. In 1979, she became director of "The Lighthouse Singers of Marin," a multi-faith, multi-racial interdenominational community-based gospel choir dedicated to cultural and spiritual outreach through music. Lady Stephens organized the Northern California Chapter of Gospel Music Workshop of America and traveled widely to teach and learn gospel. Many outstanding musicians were her students, including jazz pianist Rodney Franklin. [Berkeley e-Plaques]. * * * * * Pastor Reems, later Bishop, was the founder of the Center of Hope Church, the venue for this evening of Gospel singing. Age-toning & soiling. Few short edge tears & creases. Thumbtack hole in each corner. Withal, a VG copy of this rare survivor. Now housed in a clear archival mylar sleeve.
