Buch. Condition: Neu. Neuware - 'Bronzes Other Metal Work and Sculpture' is an authoritative and meticulously detailed survey of European decorative arts and sculpture. This scholarly work explores the intricate craftsmanship and artistic evolution of metalwork, focusing on a wide array of bronze figures, statuettes, and functio…nal objects. Through a series of detailed catalog entries, the book examines the stylistic developments of the Renaissance and subsequent periods, highlighting the technical mastery required to produce these enduring works of art.The collection presented within this volume offers a comprehensive look at the diverse applications of metal as a medium for both aesthetic expression and practical utility. From small-scale domestic bronzes to larger sculptural forms, the text provides insightful analysis of provenance, casting techniques, and the cultural significance of these objects. It serves as an essential resource for art historians, collectors, and enthusiasts of the decorative arts, preserving the legacy of significant European masters. Contact seller4-star sellerHardcover. Three-quarter baby blue cloth covered board with a gilt cheriubum on the front cover. The spine is navy blue with the title in gilt on a debossed red plate. There is a very pale yellow dust dust jacket with an illustration on the front cover. The title is printed in black across the front cover and on the spine. Pages…: (8), vii-lxv, (2), (201), (2), 3-64. (Introduction, 201 pages of plates, 64 pages or so of details). Profusely illustrated with full-color images and illustrations. Errata slip inserted. Collection bequeathed to the Metropolitan Museum. VG+/VG: A book in excellent condition. The pages are clean and the binding is tight. It looks like it has rarely been read. The dust jacket shows some signs of wear at the edges and has a small tear in the back cover; so it has been taken off the shelf more times than it has been read, but not by many.
