With Map Supplement to the Dutchess County Guide of the American Guides Series laid-in. Octavo, brown illustrated cloth (hardcover), map illustrated endpapers, vii + 166 pp, errata sheet, numerous fold-out illustrations. Good+, with foxing to covers. From Preface: The compilation of the Dutchess County Guide is based upon such a great wealth of material that the most difficult task has been that of selection. To meet the requirements of a book of useful size much material has reluctantly been omitted. An attempt has been made to include significant historical data and to record for present and future generations the many facts in connection with places, houses, and people which are now known only to older members of the community. Great care has been exercised to secure accuracy, and as a result of this effort with the use of original sources, and much personal consultation, some generally accepted data have been rejected as unreliable.
