Very good with soiling to the boards, dulled gilt and moderate wear at the edges. An illustrated story told in verse by Gertrude Hall, a popular writer at the turn-of-the-20th Century America and wife of critic William Crary Brownell. Warren was successful illustrator with contributions in *Puck* and *Life* magazines before succumbing to typhoid pneumonia just two years after this book, dying at the age of 34. An attractive and uncommon work. *OCLC* located six copies.
