Bright and clear with general light shelf wear, with some rubbing and minor fraying at the head and tail of the spine and corners. Some pencil calculations inside back cover. There are instances of moderate to heavy scattered foxing (brown spots) to the endpapers and preliminary pages, visible prominently on the title page and the portrait of Mr. Phelps as Wolsey. The text pages are generally crisp and unmarked. A solid copy of a key biography in Victorian theatrical history.…
