Hardcover. Condition: new. Hardcover. Within the field of theology per se a fundamental issue is raised when we begin with the Spirit. This issue concerns the particular shape and trajectory of the Christian faith. How will the doctrine of God at the heart of theology be re-configured when the Spirit becomes the fundamental them…e? To begin with the Spirit is to place such a question at the centre of the theological agenda. Shipping may be from multiple locations in the US or from the UK, depending on stock availability.

Paperback. Condition: new. Paperback. Includes contributions from Rob Atkins, Andy Chapman, Mary Ellen Crothers, Val Fryer, Rebecca Gordon, Tora Hylton, Rob Perrin and Yvonne Wolframm-Murray; illustrations by Olly Dindol and Rob Reed. MOLA (Museum of London Archaeology) has undertaken archaeological work at Monksmoor Farm on the… north-eastern edge of Daventry in six different areas. The earliest archaeological features lay in Area 6 at the southern end of the development area, where two pits were radiocarbon dated to the early Neolithic. They contained a moderate assemblage of worked flints along with sherds of early Neolithic pottery. In the middle Iron Age a settlement was established in the same location comprising a roundhouse and several enclosures. Two other contemporary settlements are thought to have originated in the late Iron Age/ early 1st century BC and were identified in Areas 1 and 2 between c0.2km and 0.5km apart and 500m to the north of Area 6. Area 1 contained evidence for a cluster of eight roundhouses with associated enclosures clearly showing sequential activity, while in Area 2, a large ditched enclosure defined as a Wootton Hill type, within which another roundhouse was present. It is possible that the Wootton Hill type enclosure in particular may have a slighter earlier origin than the limited pottery assemblage suggests. Sparse early Roman features were also found in Areas 3, 4 and 5. This settlement continued in use through the later 1st to 2nd century AD. During the early Roman period the settlement in Area 6 was greatly expanded with large rectilinear ditched enclosures along with smaller enclosures and paddocks being established on either side of a routeway indicating movement of livestock was important. MOLA (Museum of London Archaeology) has undertaken archaeological work at Monksmoor Farm on the north-eastern edge of Daventry in six different areas. Finds presented here include two early Neolithic pits, a middle Iron Age settlement and two late Iron Age settlements. Shipping may be from multiple locations in the US or from the UK, depending on stock availability.

Paperback. Condition: new. Paperback. In the early Bronze Age, there was a single isolated burial monument defined by a ring ditch within which were six similarly shaped pits. One of these pits contained urned cremation burials, one pit contained an unurned cremation burial, two pits contained pottery vessels and two pits did no…t contain human remains or artefacts. The vast majority of the archaeological evidence was associated with enclosures and fields systems that were probably established during the middle to late Iron Age period and were developed and expanded upon in the Roman period, being utilised until the early 4th century. At least two of the enclosures were established during the Iron Age and a further seven enclosures were created during the Roman period, with the earlier enclosures being incorporated. These enclosures and field ditches were part of an extensive landscape across this area, where a vast array of cropmarks have been plotted, making the Redhouse site just one of many in the landscape. Part of the Roman Road from Lincoln to York, known locally as the Roman Ridge, extended across the eastern part of the area. Enclosures were utilised for both domestic and other functions such as crop processing, stock management and smithing. Features found included a crouched inhumation within a pit which was radiocarbon dated to the middle Iron Age. Several Roman coins including three counterfeits were recovered during excavations. Of note were fragments of coin moulds from one of the Roman enclosure ditches, which makes this one of only about 40 sites that have produced evidence for this activity. From May 2000 to June 2017, MOLA (Museum of London Archaeology) undertook a programme of archaeological excavations and watching briefs atAdwick Le Street, 6.5km to the north-west of Doncaster (South Yorkshire). They revealed evidence for Bronze Age, Iron Age and Roman activity. Shipping may be from multiple locations in the US or from the UK, depending on stock availability.
