Skene, engraved by James Harfield Kernot.This print, while of uncertain provenance, was possibly taken from a copy of Waverley Novels (Abbotsford Edition) by Walter Scott, published in Edinburgh and London: Robert Cadell, Houlston & Stoneman, 1842-1847. Mounted and matted with white and antique white acid-free card, measuring 8" x 6" (20.3cm x 15.2cm) with a window size of around 6" x 4" and comes in a cellophane bag. Minor marking and scuffing to print, with some foxing around margins, but quite clean for age. This would make for a lovely gift and may appeal to those interested in Scotland, coastlines, Sir Walter Scott, topography and the work of Cotman, Skene or Kernot. Circa 1842-1847.
