Questo lavoro intende dare l'edizione del testo del Necrologio, corredata da una serie di annotazioni che permettono di identificare, almeno in parte, i personaggi ricordati nel volume. Al testo fa seguito un'appendice con la pubblicazione di alcune tra le fonti più antiche cui hanno att…into i redattori dei due manoscritti: una lista compilata nel corso del XII secolo con i nomi dei benefattori e dei lasciti fatti ai canonici e alcuni testamenti del XIII secolo. Vengono infine le disposizioni emanate dal Capitolo del Trecento sulla divisione delle offerte in occasione degli anniversari e le numerose note conservate nel cod. 33 che ricordano la manomissione dei servi di masnada e la loro successiva donazione alla chiesa di Aquileia. Assieme ai codici e ai documenti del Capitolo di Aquileia, confluiti nella Biblioteca Capitolare di Udine dopo la soppressione del patriarcato (1751), entrò anche il Necrologium della cattedrale aquileiese nelle due redazioni corrispondenti agli attuali codici Udinesi 33 e 34. Al termine ?martirologium?, con il quale le fonti coeve definiscono il testo, si è preferito il termine di origine umanistica ?necrologium?, usato tradizionalmente anche nella storiografia friulana sulla scia di Bernardo Maria De Rubeis e di Francesco Florio, e divenuto ormai tecnico e familiare agli storici assieme alla parola latino medioevale ?obituario? per indicare «una raccolta o registro dove un?istituzione religiosa fa iscrivere nella data in cui se ne fa memoria, i nomi dei defunti raccomandati alle preghiere dei suoi membri». L?importanza di questo testo deriva dal fatto di essere il Necrologio della chiesa di Santa Maria di Aquileia, sede della cattedra episcopale e capitale politica dello stato patriarcale, e dalla sua relativa antichità. I nomi che affiorano dal passato sono quelli di un lungo periodo di storia friulana: nomi di patriarchi e di conti, nobili e soldati, canonici e notai, banchieri e maestri di scuola, ma anche nomi di piccoli proprietari di allodi, di contadini e di servi, che lavorarono le campagne del Friuli, trapiantati molte volte dalla Slavia per ripopolare la regione dopo i saccheggi e le distruzioni del secolo X. All?edizione del Necrologium vero e proprio fanno seguito quattro appendici: i Nomina defunctorum del sec. XII, che rappresenta la fonte più antica del Necrologio stesso; le Ordinationes per decanum et capitulum facte (1330-1339); Disposizioni testamentarie e legati del XIII secolo; Note di manomissione. So it completes the already existing chartularies of monasteries in Friuli until the middle of the 13th century. Parts of the edited texts have b…een totally unknown to the researchers (e. g. some villages of western Slovenia appear here for the first time). Other documents are now first published in a full-text edition, others are now available in an edition based on much better manuscript sources than before. Even for the so-called "Chronicle of Ossalco" a different genesis can be presented now, and consequently a new interpretation. A 'side-product' was the possibility to fix the greatly disputed locating of the monastic hospital of S. Egidio. In addition to the documents and to some complementary sources there is also a register of donations to the monastery of Rosazzo, which was written in the 1340s. This is well known, but only shortly this register has completely been interpreted anew and consequently there have been important changes of chronological data and some new identifications of donators. That is why the book contains also a new edition of that register together with a detailed comment. The most significant aspect of the edition at hand is the fact that documentary texts go alongside with the new edition of the necrology of Rosazzo. The connection between the texts of the donation-list and the data of the necrology is indeed uncommonly close. The necrology was first edited by Vincenzo Joppi in 1900 and it seemed high time to be re-published anyway. Now the new edition of the necrology, commented in great detail, forms the ideal completion of the Rosazzo sources in the period from the 11th to the 13th century. It is self-evident that not only the names of places and persons in the texts have been indexed and identified, but also the peculiarities of the legal phraseology of the Middle Ages are listed up. German description: Die Edition bildet den dritten Band der "Vorarbeiten zu einem Urkundenbuch des Patriarchats Aquileia". Sie erganzt damit die schon vorhandenen Ausgaben von Urkunden friaulischer Kirchen bis zur Mitte des 13. Jahrhunderts. Die hier enthaltenen Texte waren der Forschung bisher teils vollig unbekannt (so eine Reihe von Erstnennungen von Orten im westlichen Slowenien).
