La primera edicion de este libro "La Lengua popular cubana y su reflejo en el humor criollo" salio a luz en Caracas, Venezuela, en el ano 2004 y fue presentado ese mismo ano en la Feria Internacional del Libro de Caracas; siendo muy bien acogida por los lectores venezolanos quienes siempre h…an sabido valorar la cultura popular cubana, en ocasiones mucho mejor que los propios nacionales de la isla. Afirmo lo anterior, porque antes de salir este libro, en Cuba apenas se hablaba de Samuel Feijoo, a quien siempre los dirigentes de Cultura criticaron y marginaron por su postura anti intelectualoide y anti burocratica. Cuando editamos este libro, tratamos de enviar a Cuba una decena de ejemplares a la Biblioteca Marti de Santa Clara, Cuba, misma donde Feijoo acudia con regularidad, escribia, releia sus notas, y editaba la revista Signos de su creacion; pero los funcionarios comunistas se negaron a recibir un libro escrito y editado en el exterior por un exiliado politico. Por ironias de la historia, "La lengua popular cubana", 1era. edicion, forma parte hoy de los catalogos de la Biblioteca Nacional de Venezuela, la Biblioteca del Congreso de los Estados Unidos, y bibliotecas centrales de 23 prestigiosas universidades norteamericanas y europeas, como: University of Yale, University of Harvard, Stanford University, University of Miami, Florida International University, University of Miami y Miami Dade College, entre otras.
