Cloth. Condition: Good. No Jacket. Howard Leigh (illustrator). Originally serialized in The Modern Boy. Red cloth name in pencil to front free endpaper, spine lean . Provided with a copy dustjacket. The Dustjacket and opening plate were Howard Leigh's work , the other plates are uncredited but also appear to be his work. Catalogue 1pp to the rear. Starts with 13 titles in the Ace series at the back by George Rochester. Rochester was a contemporary to W E Johns , in the early 1930s his (Rochester's) aviation stories outsold the legendary Biggles ironically Rochester was also imprisoned in the same POW Camp as W E Johns. The artist, Howard Leigh, did the artwork in many of the early Biggles books and was also brother-in-law to W E Johns John Hamilton 1936 England.

Hardcover. Condition: Fair. THERE ARE NO TARIFFS OR CUSTOMS DUTIES ON BOOKS. Undated but looks similar to the 1935 edition. Condition: Fair - No dust jacket. Cover boards are faded and have crushing to ends of spine and bruising to corners. Page sides are darkened and have heavy foxing. Front endpaper has been removed, title page remains and no other pages seem to be missing. No notes or highlighting but text blocks have foxing throughout some pages have more than others. Binding is intact but exposed in at least one place meaning it might be a bit fragile there, no loose pages currently. Overall a readable copy with foxing being the notable sign of age.

The colouring remains beautifully vibrant. Now housed in an archival sleeve. - Orange cloth with lettering to the spine. Fading of the spine and lightly scuffed at the corners. Firm binding and clean. There is a slight book lean. - Very light soiling to endpages.
