Le 28 février 1518, la naissance du premier Dauphin François lui impose d'adapter son projet initial à l'actualité. Au printemps 1519, il présente au roi les troisième et quatrième traités du «Triumphe des Vertuz». Ainsi, davantage que les deux traités qui le précèdent, le Triumphe de Justice, constitue-t-il un miroir des princes, dans lequel l'instruction morale apparemment destinée à l'enfant exhorte en fait le roi lui-même et l'enjoint à s'acquitter avec excellence de sa haute tâche.
