Jahrhundert bis hin zu Jean Piaget, Karl Bühler und zu der gesellschaftlichen Psychologie Lev Vygotskijs. Dabei wird Spracherwerb als die Aneignung sprachlicher Tätigkeiten und Handlungen konzipiert, die als Verarbeitung sprachlicher Kommunikation in einem altersspezifischen Entwicklungsprozeß vor sich geht.Die beiden grundsätzlichen Ansätze der Kindersprachforschung, die sich in neuerer Zeit auf Vygotskij beziehen, die Tätigkeitstheorie und die Funktionale Pragmatik, werden zusammengeführt und auf Mehrsprachigkeit hin erweitert. Für eine differenzierte Sprachentwicklung und die damit im unmittelbaren Zusammenhang stehende Entwicklung höherer mentaler Prozesse ist der Ausbau des Diskurses durch Vorlesen, Erzählen und das gemeinsame Reflektieren wichtig, nicht zuletzt als Grundlage für die schulische Texthabitualisierung.Die allesamt empirischen Beiträge dieses Buches sind verschiedenen Aspekten dieser Fragen gewidmet und stellen den Spracherwerb in das Spannungsfeld von Mündlichkeit und Schriftlichkeit, Diskurs, Grammatik und Text.
