Colour photos throughout giving a glimpse of the extraordianary flora and fauna of this largely unexeplored island, bounded by two rivers deep in the heart of Amazonia. Included (inserted, as found) is 45-page extract from issue of The Geographical Journal for November 1990 (volume 156, Part 3), titled The Maraca Rainforest Project, which goes into great detail on the the expedition's scientific findings, illustrated with b/w photos, maps, charts, etc. Book and jacket near a-new.
