The dustjacket has rubbing and scuffing to both covers most notably on the front where portions of the ink have worn off, sunfading to the spine, shelf-wear to the top and bottom edges of the dustjacket resulting in multiple small tears (less than 1/4), and water damage at the folds of both flaps resulting in discoloration at the back fold and a small amount of mold on the interior of the jacket, otherwise the dustjacket is intact, in good condition.

A very near fine copy, the…binding square and firm with just s little bumping to the spine tips and corners, the cloth bright and fresh. The contents are clean throughout and without previous owners' marks. Complete with the very lightly rubbed dustwrapper that is faded to the spine and otherwise without loss or tears. Not price-clipped (publisher's later price label over the printed price on the lower front flap). Inscribed by the artist in black ink on the half title "To Stephen from / Edward Ardizzone / Oct 1970". The fourth book in the Mimff series, which follows a boy named Mimff on a deserted island quest inspired by 'Robinson Crusoe'. Library stamp and inscription to copyright page has been partially rubbed out, resulting in slight lifting to paper, though not removed entirely. Previous owner"s inscription to front free endpaper with slight offsetting of "Pigeons". Glue marks to boards of "The Blackbird", with offsetting to dust wrapper flaps and endpapers. Dust wrappers, generally very smart. Dust wrapper of" Pigeons" and "Mimff-Robinson" clipped. Slight lifting to front flap of dust wrapper, tape reinforcement to inside front joint of wrap. Sligh rubbing and bumping to extremities, resulting in the odd very minor chip and closed tear to extremities. Slight age toning to wraps of older copies. Offsetting to edges of flaps to "A Ring of Bells". Internally, firmly bound. Pages bright and clean with one or two spots, heavier to fore edges.
