Prosper Vedrenne était chanoine honoraire de Périgueux et licencié en théologie. (D2). Ceux qui pleurent seront consolés, nul pêché n'est irrémissible, de la nature et des effets du pardon de Dieu, l'aveu est un sacrifice cher à l'amour. On ne sait pas grand-chose sur ce chanoine qui a publié quelques livres d'histoire bien plus connus (Une histoire de Charles X notamment). Heureux ceux qui pleurent est bien moins courant.
