Gromme, a contributing author, was taxidermist on this African expedition. He would later work as curator of birds and mammals at the Milwaukee Public Museum. During his career Gromme received acclaim as the dean of U.S. wildlife art and as a prominent and effective wildlife conservationist. Covers show just a bit of wear at the corners.
