Paperback. Condition: New. Print on Demand. This book attempts to use a series of poetic links to bind selections from Thomas Moore's well-known "Irish Melodies". The author's aim is not literary genius but rather to provide a framework for remembering some of Moore's most famous poetry. This book is less a standalone work and more of a companion piece for existing fans of Moore's poetry. Though the book is presented as being equally useful for events celebrating Moore's birthday and for events celebrating the music and poetry of Ireland, the book's focus is clearly on remembering and enjoying the work of Thomas Moore. The book occasionally references broader cultural and historical events such as the We"ford massacre and the Boyne River battle but these are mentioned only in passing. Thomas Moore is discussed as an important figure in Irish literature, however, the rest of the text consists mostly of poetic tributes to Moore and performance suggestions for a musical program to accompany a reading of the tributes. This book is a reproduction of an important historical work, digitally reconstructed using state-of-the-art technology to preserve the original format. In rare cases, an imperfection in the original, such as a blemish or missing page, may be replicated in the book. print-on-demand item.
