Pagine: 454 -- Quando nel 1974 Giuseppe Nava pubblicò l'edizione critica di Myricae, diede avvio a quella feconda stagione di studi pascoliani che ancora se ne sostanzia e fa perno anche sui suoi commenti, alle stesse Myricae (1978 e 1991), ai Canti di Castelvecchio (1983), e ai Poemi conviviali (2008). Se oggi il rapporto tra filologia e critica è il principio fondativo dell'interpretazione dell'opera di Giovanni Pascoli, ciò è dovuto in gran parte al suo magistero. L'opera che mancava, e che Giuseppe Nava non fece in tempo a riordinare, è quella dei suoi studi critici, che sempre ne accompagnarono le indagini filologiche, con riflessioni sui rapporti dell'autore di Myricae con la tradizione (Petrarca, Leopardi, Manzoni, Carducci), col folklore, con il mito, con le letterature europee e con il Novecento.
