The author was the Headmaster of The Circus Place School in Edinburgh and a member of the Scottish Enlightenment. The boards are scuffed and worn, but the book is still perfectly readable and in good antique condition. Look out for Alex.

After being adopted by the tribe, Kirk escaped and rejoined his regiment. He recounts his role in a raid with Rogers' Rangers, expeditions to Montreal and Detroit, battles of Signal Hill and Bushy Run, etc. Accounts of the local geography and wild life are also included.
