[Hinton was Chairman of the Central Electricity generating Board, and Holford was Professor of Town Planning at University College, London. The paper served as…a benchmark for the early appointment of landscape architects in the design of power stations. The meeting was chaired by Lord Strang of the national Parks Commission. Holford was heavily involved with the development of post-World War II British town planning and was largely responsible for drafting the Town and Country Planning Act 1947.].
