Beide stehen auf dem Höhepunkt ihres Ruhms. Und beider Lage ist unsicher. Wallenstein fürchtet die Wechselhaftigkeit des Kriegsglücks und die Ungunst des Kaisers. Er glaubt an die Macht der Sterne. Nur wer ihre Konstellation am besten berechnen kann, wird ihm helfen, Mut und Vorsicht zur rechten Zeit einzusetzen. Kepler, als Wissenschaftler weltbekannt, weiß nicht, wo er für sich und seine Familie eine Heimat finden und wie er seine Arbeit fortsetzen kann.
