Taschenbuch. Condition: Neu. Neuware - A book for anyone interested in Scandinavian enamel jewelry, featuring 128 (one hundred twenty-eight) Scandinavian enamel workshops and their artisans, their makers mark, and samples of their work from the Golden Age of enamel jewelry (1860 to 1960). From 1860 to 1960, an era of Scandinavian enamel jewelry production flourished. Because Scandinavian enamel had extremely high technical and artistic quality, this period is called the 'golden age' of enamel jewelry and thus an important era in enamel arts history. From the late 1800's, enamel art became one of the most prestigious fields in Scandinavia and by 1904 for example, at the Saint Louis World's Fair held in Missouri, USA, Norwegian enamellists received awards in enameling that surpassed their Russian counterparts. However, there was almost no information published about these award-winning master goldsmith artisans. The book is about prominent Scandinavian master goldsmiths and their Workshops. Each 122 Scandinavian workshops include a photograph of the founding artesian (if possible), at least one of their Makers Mark(s), and photograph(s)s of a selection of their enamel work. The book also contains 6 unidentified Scandinavian workshops.

Buch. Condition: Neu. Neuware - The book, Forgotten Masters of Scandinavian Enamel Jewelry focuses on 38 master Scandinavian workshops/companies of enamel from 1860 -1960, when enamel became one of the most prestigious emerging fields of art world-wide. At the Saint Louis World's Fair of 1904, Norway's enamel masters received awards in enameling art surpassing even their Russian counterparts, yet surprisingly, those Scandinavian enamel master artisans faded into oblivion, their histories lost in out-of-print books, and dusty archives until now.

Taschenbuch. Condition: Neu. nach der Bestellung gedruckt Neuware - Printed after ordering - This true story begins with the author following the flashing tail-lights of a U-Haul truck driven by her husband and ends four years later as another truck is about to drive off. In between, an engrossing story unfolds about a small family seeking fulfillment in the wilderness of Washington state in areas accessible only by floatplane or a four-hour boat trip. What happens to this family as they meet each new experience makes a captivating adventure story told with wit and piety.Olson writes with such simple beauty of expression that a walk in the forest becomes an enchanting encounter with nature. And the terror of their four year old daughter seriously hurt, hours and untold miles from competent help, leaves an indelible imprint on the reader. The motivation to leave middle America with its comfortable homes, paved streets and shopping centers is a search for complete happiness. But the Olsons find more than personal fulfillment among the giant trees, towering snow-capped peaks, singing streams and a few dozen people very unlike themselves. They also find the presence, the power and the majesty of God.
