Da Liebling außerdem ein begeisterter Fan von Boxen, Pferderennen und Essen war, schrieb er zeitweise auch über diese Themen. 1947 veröffentlichte er The Wayward Pressman, eine Sammlung seiner Schriften aus dem New Yorker und anderen Veröffentlichungen.
