This volume stands out as preserving the original (Sephardic) laws from Yosef Karo while annotating the REMA and the Ashkenazic insight. Two volumes, each housed in a canvas-backed and felt-lined drop-back box covered with Zerkal 'elephanthide' paper and with colour-printed front cover, the text in loose sheets enclosed in double hand-made paper wrapper…s incorporating plant leaves. Text is printed on Sang Tien Tang paper made from Chinese mulberry bark and is embellished with 43 full colour illustrations (14 full page and 2 double page) by Jean Gradassi, who also designed the decorative borders to every text page. The colour printing, heightened with gold, is exceptionally bright and fresh. This is no. 408 of 725 copies of the 'ordinary' (!) edition. Text in fine condition throughout; boxes undamaged.
