Taschenbuch. Condition: Neu. Neuware - In an era where leadership advice often swings between flashy charisma and rigid rules, there s a quieter, proven path one built on role-based leadership, trust, and clarity. Rooted in the enduring principles of Confucian leadership, this approach turns ancient wisdom into a practical operating system for today s organizations, delivering both integrity and results. This book shows how virtues like ren (care), yi (moral rightness), li (ritualized conduct), zhi (practical wisdom), and xin (trustworthiness) can become everyday business tools not just lofty ideals. Through clear frameworks, modern case studies, and actionable practices, you ll learn how to lead teams with stability, make sound decisions in gray areas, and create cultures where trust compounds over time. Whether you re a CEO, team leader, entrepreneur, or manager in the making, you ll discover how to: - Build trust in business that strengthens relationships with employees, customers, and partners - Apply organizational rituals to cut friction, boost clarity, and reduce costly misunderstandings - Use principled management to make decisions that serve both ethical standards and long-term success - Navigate cultural dynamics like guanxi ethics without slipping into favoritism or corruption - Balance care with accountability, harmony with healthy dissent, and loyalty with transparency This is not leadership theory for the shelf it s a set of repeatable habits and decision tools you can use immediately to lead with credibility and confidence. By the final page, you ll hold a complete blueprint for junzi leadership one that anchors you in principles, clarifies your role, and equips you to create lasting impact in any organization.

Hardback. Condition: New. A multidisciplinary analysis of how state capture unfolded in South Africa and was contested within both civil society and the state itself. It presents a scholarly and empirical understanding of how things went awry, even with various regulating bodies in place, and how to prevent state capture from happening again in the future. The metaphor of 'state capture' has dominated South Africa's political discourse in the post-Zuma presidency era. What is state capture and how does it manifest? Is it just another example of a newly independent, failed African state? And is it unique to South Africa? The contributors in this collection try to explain the phenomenon from a variety of viewpoints and disciplines. All hold fast to the belief that the democracy that promised the country so much when apartheid ended has been significantly eroded, resulting in most citizens expressing a loss of hope for the future. Read together, the essays cumulatively show not only how state capture was enabled and who benefitted, but also how and by whom it was scrutinised and exposed in order to hold those in power accountable. The book aims to present a scholarly and empirical understanding of how things went awry, even with various regulating bodies in place, and how to prevent state capture from happening again in the future.

Paperback. Condition: new. Paperback. The Field BetweenJonathan Vale Some lives are built twice-once out of fear, and once out of love. After a marriage forged in duty and silence, Ethan Rivers returns to the coastal town he swore he'd left behind. The house is weathered, the land half-wild, and the family he fled still measures love in expectations. He comes back to fix what can be mended-fences, memories, maybe even himself. Then he meets Noah Bennett, a man whose kindness runs deeper than words. Where Ethan learned survival through obedience, Noah lives by patience and quiet certainty. Together they begin to rebuild a life from the wreckage of past choices, discovering that love isn't something owed or earned-it's something worked for, the way a field learns to grow again after years of neglect.Set against the shifting seasons of a small New England harbor, The Field Between follows two men as they navigate the long work of forgiveness: of family, of love, of themselves. Through storms and silences, through losses that refuse to stay buried, Ethan and Noah learn that the real act of living is not starting over-it's staying.Told in lyrical prose and grounded in the textures of rural life-salt air, damp earth, the hum of labor-The Field Between is a story about endurance, intimacy, and the quiet redemption found in ordinary acts of care. It's about what grows after survival, and how we come to recognize home not as a place, but as the work of two hands willing to keep building. This item is printed on demand. paperback.
