Der letzte - ein Nachruf auf ein vor kurzem verstorbenes Mitglied - hat ebenfalls mit dem Tod zu tun. Dazwischen befinden sich mehr als 60 Beitrage, die vom Leben der Osterreichischen Akademie der Wissenschaften im Berichtszeitraum 1. Oktober 2003 - 30. September 2006 handeln, wie beispielsweise vom Ausbau der Forschungstragerinstitution OAW, der Qualitatssicherung der von den Forschungseinrichtungen der Akademie erbrachten Forschungsleistungen, der seit jeher bedeutenden Rolle der Akademie bei der Forderung des wissenschaftlichen Nachwuchses, der Offentlichkeitsarbeit der Akademie durch Forcierung anspruchsvoller Vortragsreihen fur ein breiteres Publikum oder der Reform der Akademie.
