Druck auf Anfrage Neuware - Printed after ordering - Seit Bestehen der Technik kämpft der Mensch mit der thermo dynamischen Instabilität der Metalle, die nur im Höchstvakuum vor ihrem Schicksal bewahrt werden können, sich mit Bestandteilen des umgebenden Mediums chemisch zu verbinden. Glücklicherweis…e bleibt dieser Umwandlungsprozeß auch unter normalen Umständen oft an der Metalloberfläche stehen. Es bilden sich schützende Anlauffilme oder passivierende Deckschichten. Andererseits beschleunigt aber unvollkommene Bedeckung oft genug die weitere Korrosion. So sind Art der Bedeckung, chemische Zusammensetzung der festen Korrosions produkte, ihre Struktur, ihr elektrochemisches Verhalten, ihr Ent stehungsort usw. maßgebend für Korrosion und Korrosionsschutz. Unsere Kenntnis der fundamentalen Zusammenhänge hat im letzten Jahrzehnt durch eine Vertiefung in die Kinetik der Transportvorgänge in Verbindung mit der Theorie der Gitterfehlordnung, durch die Konzeption vom Auftreten elektrischer Felder, verankert in der Randschichttheorie, eine umwälzende 'Wandlung erfahren. Schon jetzt erweist sich die neue Betrachtungsweise als ungemein anregend für Forschung und Technik. Allerdings dürfte es erfahrungsgemäß noch Jahre dauern, bis solche neuen Gedankengänge in genügender Breite in die Technik eingedrungen und dort assimiliert sind. Wegen der Tragweite dieser Entwicklung beschloß der Ausschuß für Korrosion und Korrosionsschutz in der Deutschen Gesellschaft für lIfetallkunde, eine Diskussionstagung über 'Passivierungs- und Anlauf vorgänge' abzuhalten (14. und 15. Oktober 1955, Frankfurt a. M.).
