"Three hundred only copies are printed on large paper. This is No. 28" on verso of half title page. Initials and a short phrase in Latin on the ffe. The previous owner has made a tiny notation on the preface and a line on the page where his name is listed. Otherwise, pages are generally clean, bright smooth and unmarked. The binding is tight. List of contributors includes His Grace,The Archbishop of Canterbury at the time, Edward Ware Benson. Includes a list of authors of the English passages; George Eliot, Keats, Longfellow, Hume, Sir Walter Scott, Shakespeare and many others. 381 pages. The editor was Professor of Humanity at the University of Glascow.
