A book of magic tricks with handkerchiefs, including diagrams and detailed instructions, suitable for beginners or amateur magic hobbyists. George DeLawrence (1886-1928) was a professional magician and popular vaudeville magic act best known for his performance of the "Twentieth Century Handkerchief" trick (described here on p. 6). He also published guides on card tricks and parlor tricks. Single vol. (7.5" by 5.5"), pp. 37, [3], in original wrps illus. with image of woman sitting and performing a magic trick on front. 4 copies on WorldCat (January 2025). Some of the other tricks include "Wand Vanisher", "The Devel's [sic] Handkerchief", and the "Vanishing Glass of Water" Very good. Chipping/wear to upper right-hand corner, rust staining from staples.
