Vystupuji v nich kralove a knizata stejne jako japonsky broskevnicek Momotaro a Rom Dezo z Dolni Terchove - a vedle nich straslivi Tlamachove, kteri jedi jehlici a salat z cervu, anebo Chlebovka a Rohlikovka, se kterymi rozmlouva Konvice Kocka. Odehravaji se tu leckdy veci desive - je to vubec pro deti? neni to pro deti? -, ale pro dobre to dobre dopadne (kdo je ovsem dobry?). Sverazny humor a jedinecna fantazie: to jsou hlavni znaky pohadek teto knihy. A tak, mile deti a rodice, ctete! Protoze jestli neco pohadky nesnaseji, tak kdyz je nekdo nepovida a necte. To pohadky nikdy nikomu neodpusti - a konce jsou strasne, jak je popsano v teto knize. V Egberii nic neni tak, jak jste na to zvykli. Ale ani se neda rict, ze by tam vsecko bylo naopak. V Egberii je totiz vsechno kazdou chvili jinak. Ale zase ne uplne jinak. A jindy to vypada stejne jako predevcirem. Napriklad pet plus pet rovna se v Egberii sestnact; ale jindy dvacet jedna. A pozitri treba minus osmnact, jenze to nikdo nedokaze predpovedet.
