Heavily creased front flap (a gentle diagonal crease showing also on first pages). Half-title page with a foreign stamp and uneven age-yell…owing (other than that, interior is untanned). Text is unmarked, majority of pages in good clean condition. Age-toned page edges externally. Firm secure binding. Cover shows faint shelfworn marks and scratches, rubbing to edges, small bumps to spine corners; spine remains free of vertical creases. --- Niels Bohr og Werner Heisenberg er de to storste navne i det 20. arhundredes atomfysik. De modte hinanden i 1922, og Bohr hentede Heisenberg til Kobenhavn, hvor han fra 1926-1927 var lektor pa Niels Bohr Instituttet. Deres samarbejde var meget tæt og frugtbart og medforte nærmest et andeligt far-son-forhold. Men deres nære venskab blev brudt pa grund af nazismen i 1930'ernes Tyskland. Mens mange fysikere flygtede for Hitler, forblev Heisenberg i Tyskland, hvor han kastede sig over atomenergi og arbejdede pa mulighederne for at lave en tysk atombombe. Ud over en alment forstaelig fremstilling af den kernefysik, som muliggjorde reaktoren og atombomben, far vi i bogen et interessant indblik i det uundgaelige samspil imellem videnskab og politik illustreret ved det beromte mode mellem Bohr og Heisenberg. Her forklares det nærmere, hvordan det kunne ga til, at Heisenberg og andre tyske fysikere gik pa kompromis med nazismen.
