Les rédacteurs des inventaires de Jean de Berry- vont plus loin : ils nous fournissent occasionnellement le nom des artistes de renom auxquels le frère de Charles V confia la décoration de ses plus beaux manuscrits. - Un Psautier escript en latin et français, très richement enluminé, où il apluseurs histoires au commencement de la main maistre André Beauneueu - c'est grâce à cette mention que nous savons que le duc eut la singulière idée de faire illustrer son psautier (n° 6) non par un enlumineur mais par- le plus grand sculpteur du temps."
